I'm a white-collar professional (which is a curious phrase, considering how long it's been since I've seen a coworker wearing a white shirt, but anyway), and that divide-and-conquer tactic has worked well with us for decades.
ReplyDeleteIn our case, the emphasis is on "professional." It makes us feel that we're above those lower level types who belong to unions.
