Sometimes it's worthwhile to receive bulk emails from dog-knows-who. Today, one rolled in from eMedicine containing this urgent snippet:

    I just saw an ad for artificial hip joints on CNN. So now we're supposed to tell our docs which surgical products to use? It's nuts. Get the darn pharma ads OFF TV. I'd actually prefer the Marlboro man.
