Displaced

Movers are packing up my life as I write. Tomorrow everything goes on a van. Friday we fly to New York. On April 2 we face the unspeakable pleasure of unpacking furnishings for a 1900 sq ft home into 1300 sq ft, plus a very large (dry!) basement.

If you explained why you're moving, I missed it.

Why I'm moving back to my Native State:
1) Denver was mean to me. I have the scars from 10 surgeries to prove it.
2) Darling Husband's job, which we moved here for, was eliminated.
3) I miss the rolling hills & forests of the east.
4) I miss New York. Coloradans are irony deficient.

That covers it quite well. :)

I didn't know you moved because of your husband's job. In our case, we wanted to move here and I was able to find a job. Which disappeared three years later, but I found another one and we stayed. I've wanted to move to the Pacific NW for the last few decades, but that never happened.

Good luck with the move. Take frequent breaks and repeat "It's all worth it...It's all worth it."

There is a silver lining, I'm sure. After all, less house is less to clean!

I love the 'irony deficient' line. I just had some people move from CO here to CA and we had them to dinner. 'Irony deficient' describes them perfectly! (And they were completely nice and kind but I guess we are just whack).

Hope it goes well!
